The Finnish payTV service supplier, Digi TV Plus Oy and Digita Oy, the leading Finnish distributors of radio and television services, have made an agreement on the distribution of PlusTV’s programmes in the mobile television network. PlusTV commences the supply of mobile television services with a pilot of a couple of channels in the beginning of 2007. The service selection will then be extended to a diverse content package of channels by the end of 2007.
“It is marvellous to be able to offer a diverse range of programmes in the mobile television network from the very beginning. The mobile television provides the content creators with a new, flexible way to create contents. Watching television is no longer restricted to one’s home, and mobile consumer groups can be reached with mobile television,” says Managing Director Sirpa Ojala from Digita.
”We want to extend the well started supply of the payTV services of PlusTV. Mobile television offers the television companies a new group of viewers and a distribution channel to complement the television in your living room. We are among the first payTV operators expanding their service selection to cover mobile terminals as well,” says CEO Vesa Mars from PlusTV.
