MobileTV
Digita’s MobileTV brings genuine television and other future services into your pocket. MobileTV offers new-generation television and radio services combined with other mobile services. Thanks to MobileTV, you can watch your favourite programmes also when on the move and when it best suits you.
The MobileTV service is based on the DVB-H technology, which is the best distribution channel for television and radio programmes to a mobile receiver. A DVB-H network rolled out by Digita was opened for commercial use in Finland on 1 December 2006. The coverage area of the network is 40 percent of people living in Finland. Information on the extended coverage area will be updated on our website at www.mobiilitv.fi.
Digita is the network operator of the MobileTV network offering television and radio broadcasting services to all interested service providers under equal, non-discriminating conditions. Service providers may include, for example, television and radio channels, content creators and payTV and teleoperators.
Consumers can purchase the MobileTV service and phone from a teleoperator offering the service. Teleoperators will define the costs of the service to the consumers. Digita is currently negotiating with several operators and content suppliers on offering MobileTV contents and service to consumers. + Stay updated in news, sport highlights and your other favourite programmes. Electronic programme guide, similar to those in set-top boxes, assists you in choosing programmes.
+ Depending on the properties of the receiver, you may also be able to record the programmes you watch or listen.
+ The “visual radio” brings extra properties to radio services, too. When listening to radio, you may read additional information on the programme, artist, etc. on the display of our mobile phone.
+ The MobileTV network allows using interactive services. For example, if you will be watching the Eurovision song contest on your MobileTV next spring, you can easily vote for your favourite straight from the “screen” without separate text messages or phone calls.
+ The service allows smooth distribution of files. You can download files, music, games, etc. on your mobile phone.
+ MobileTV based on the DVB-H technology is a genuine television – the broadcast will not be interrupted as the number of viewers increase and the image quality is excellent.
